3 key questions to reflect on
Welcome back men. It’s the first Monday in May. That’s wild huh? Feel like the year just started. Starting this edition tonight with a personal request of each of you.
I think this newsletter deserves to grow. Not for me, but for others. If you follow me on IG, you can see I am putting more deliberate effort into putting out content aligned with Mindful Man topics. It’s uncomfortable for me and I am not quite in a flow of it, but I will do whatever it takes for this mission.
These efforts are to drive traffic to the newsletter, so my words can have further reach and greater impact. I love the underwear business, and the content we put out, but I believe that’s only a piece of the impact I am put on this Earth to make. I think this newsletter is another pivotal piece as well.
And so, I’d like to deliberately ask you to share this with between 3-900,000 people. Big range here, so you can pick how many you feel called to share with. In return, I will send you a pair of NADS on me. Just send me a screenshot of however you shared- I’d recommend one of the following, and your waist size, style preference, and shipping address.
Forward it: Send this email to friends, family, and/or others and tell them YOUR opinion on WHY they should subscribe.
Talk about it: Share your thoughts on social media and tag my socials and/or share this subscription page link . This would be EPIC if you can do this.
I am incredibly grateful for your efforts here. Is this an underwear bribe? I think it is…
Ok, let’s jump into tonight’s edition: how to use underwear to get more newsletter subscribers. No just kidding, ha ha. Good one right? Thx. Carry on. Talking about goals, desires, and feelings. ONWARD MEN!
Mindful Minute: Life’s True Pursuit: Feeling
We set out to accomplish our goals. We work tirelessly to obtain whatever it is we seek. Discipline evolves from constantly moving forward to knowing when to take your foot off the gas to rest and recover. We become so attached to the drive, and to our targets themselves, they grow affixed to our identities along the way. Our thoughts change. Our actions change. Our lives change. We change.
It can happen fast, or gradually. But it happens. It’s both a natural and unnatural evolution, driven by one thing: desire.
We reface our entire beings in pursuit of our desires. When was the last time you took a good hard look at what you want? Have you ever run a deliberate , scrutinous, audit on your ambitions?
Most desires are external; money, houses, cars, promotions, women, fame, status, the list goes on. We can really envision these, as there is some tangible element tied to them. Most of the time, we stop there. Our assessment of what we are after concludes at “what?”
There is more here. The “what” will only get us so far. What about “why?”
We know what our sought after ambitions look like in our heads. We visualize them incessantly- they live in our minds. But do we know what they feel like, in our hearts?
This is the deeper level we have to explore when it comes to our desires. What feelings am I really after? How will obtaining or accomplishing the external, tangible items of my pursuit make me feel? This is the real why, the true desire in our hearts. To feel a certain way.
Life is the pursuit of a feeling, the objects of our desires are merely a means of hopefully bringing us closer to experiencing those feelings.
In diving deeper here, we can better understand what we want, but more importantly, we can better understand ourselves.
So I urge you to ask yourself the following questions to get closer to uncovering your why:
What feelings do I think the things I am after will bring me?
What do these feelings tell me about myself? About what I value?
Can I obtain these feelings in other ways?
Are my desires really even what I want?

Quote of the week
Desire is a contract you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want.
Spoken from one of the wiser men of the entrepreneurial/investment world of today, this couldn’t be more true. Goals and desires become all consuming and we end up postponing today’s happiness in pursuit of future destinations. We mustn’t allow ourselves to lend our pride and happiness only to a future state.
